Paper marbling is a method that one can use to decorate paper or fabric.
It gets it's name because the finished product looks a lot like a smooth marble or stone. The process involves floating ink or paint on top of water. The next step would be carefully laying a piece of paper on top of the water. The patterns created by the floating colors are transferred onto the paper.
Directions on How To Make Marbled Paper
Cover table to protect from water and paint.
Pour enough water on a large tray or pan, about one inch or so. Those aluminum pans sold at the dollar store work fine.
Prepare paints to be added to the water.
Lightly drip different paint colors onto the surface, so they float. A few drops at a time works best.
Lift paper or fabric gently, and admire the stunning print.
This is super, super, super, super cool! I think we might just try this tomorrow!! I love it!
